Yesterday we finally pulled out of town after turning in the key to our "home" that helped with our transition. Below is a couple of pictures so that you can see for yourselves how fantastic it was!

Thank You, Don!!

So off we went, stopping in Curlew to see a friend, Evie Hermann, and hear about her wonderful new planned journey coming up this fall.

Drove over the back roads of this beautiful state, ate lunch in Winthrop at one of our favorite spots - the School House Brewery. Sat on the patio overlooking the Chewuch River.

It was a beautiful drive over the North Cascades Highway dropping us down into Newhalem where we stopped and took time to walk the Trail of Cedars.  Gorgeous old huge cedars along the Skagit River - and lots of mosquitos!!

We decided to pack it in at Sedro Wooley and after watching some of the Olympics, it was down for the count!

Today we made our way over the border at Blaine and on to Vancouver we went. Staying tonight and tomorrow at the same hotel - Ramada Inn & Suites Downtown in the Entertainment District. An old neat hotel with a retro twist.  One thing about old hotels is that they're quite small but full of charm and character.

It felt sooooo good to walk and walk and walk. We happened upon the fact that there is a Matisse showing at the Vancouver Art Gallery & Museum with some Picasso, Van Gough & Gauguin as well!! Around the corner we also stumbled upon a presentation by the Korean Travel Concert.  Beautiful drumming, dancing and music by 12 young and very enthusiastic youth!!

We ended the day sitting at a sidewalk cafe having Italian food and wine. Yup!! A great ending to our 2nd day away from "home".

Tomorrow we think we're going to take the double decker bus around town stopping wherever along the way. But the BIG highlight of tomorrow will be watching Brazil give their fireworks presentation while we have dinner on the terrace of a restaurant overlooking English Bay. Can't Wait!!

Sounds like a great trip so far!!! Isn't it such fun to 'stumble' upon happenings? Yesterday I drove to Metaline Falls and rather than just dump magazines and run at The Cutter Theatre, I decided to venture in and explore. There is an art display by Mel McCuddin in the sanctuary of a gallery upstairs. What a treat. I visited with the curator and was so happy with myself that I paid attention to my internal GPS and made that visit! There's my blog (ha). Keep having fun and posting! Love you both!
