Aruba !!!

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

What do you do when you wake up in Aruba??  You smile, stretch, and go get some of that absolutely stunning sun on the white sandy glorious beach or dip in the warm green/aqua blue water or slide into the refreshing pool with a Bloody Mary in hand!!  Yup!  That's what you do!!

Our flight down on Sunday was so uneventful and smooth. All I could think of was that we had just left US soil and wouldn't be back for 6 months. Weird feeling. Mixed emotions. I'm sure it'll all get sorted out.

I keep having to remind myself that we're doing this to make lemonade out of lemons that had been handed to us.  We're all about seeing the silver lining in everything sour, looking at our choices based on the facts of the time, and putting together the best positive scenario for our future. That's what this is all about.  We think it's not a bad plan considering...

Many have told us how brave we are, how they wish they could do what we're doing, how we are smart to make the most out of the rest of our lives, how excited they are for us, etc., etc.  We just want to live as a good a life as we can because we earned it! No one gave us anything but it was being taken away from us and we wouldn't stand by and let that happen! This is how we're taking the bull by the horns! Yea baby!!  Bring it on!!  We're ready and excited to make this journey!!

Now back to our beautiful time here in Aruba....  We're not staying in the same resort as my daughter Denise, her husband, Michael, our grandsons, Peter and Maddox.  But this island is very small and they have a car to be able to quickly pick us up to spend a great deal of time with them.

That's a good thing since our complex is a construction zone.  Yesterday I came back to the room mid afternoon and I couldn't hear myself think! Although let's be honest, you don't spend much time in your room.  If you do, you're missing the point of coming here.

Our days have been spent lounging on the beach in the morning, being at the pool in the afternoon after having lunch, and then going for dinner at great restaurants.  And, they have GREAT food here!!

After dinner on Monday evening, we found ourselves at Senior Frogs for a few night caps. A good time was had by all!!

Yesterday, we all went on a catamaran snorkeling trip and we had a fabulous time!  We stopped at 2 ship wrecks and 1 coral reef.  Beautiful!!

So there's really not much to tell except if you're looking for a beautiful spot to totally relax and kick back -  this is it!!

Today is going to be more of the same and tomorrow Mike and I are going on a full day island tour.  Will report back about that later.

Love to all!
